Victoria’s day starts out like any other aboard the transorbital ship, Phoenix. Such is the life of an emergency medicine specialist in the age of “post-discovery”. Sure, she had always dreamed of interacting with intelligent extraterrestrial life- the real thing, not those microbes on distant moons. Who wouldn’t? She was still happy with her career, however mundane and demanding it might be. That’s what it took to run a ship the size of a small city smoothly. Monotony. But all that changes one morning, and suddenly she’s not so sure she didn’t stick her foot in it…
Be careful what you wish for.
*** Escape had been their only drive, and even death was preferable to the alternative. But they never thought their flight for freedom would put them in an uncharted system. Forced to interact with an isolated world and its inferior, albeit curious people. When it affords them an unforseen and unprecedented opportunity to take back their world from those who seek to destroy them, however, Aderus begins to wonder if it wasn’t fate. Earth’s proposal is shocking and uncomfortable for a fierce, independent race that relishes in their solitude. But the more he learns of humans, the more he comes to admire and respect them. One, in particular.

Everything that I have come to love, want and need in my science fiction & fantasy books. I found it and so much more in Saving Askara: 1 a wicked kick ass take no prisoners heroine 2 The very very alien hero 3 A Fantastic story line, that literally hooks you from the go 4 Most important for me is no drooling at the mouth instant falling in love with the earth girl. 5 Heat level one it gets under way is through the roof and boy does it sizzle when it needs to.
6. Interesting side characters who you know are going to get their own story ( please)
Science Fiction & Fantasy I am a cover junkie and this beautiful cover has it and more. I do not judge a book by its cover ever, but for a science fiction book this is a master piece, intriguing, imagination running what he will look like from the front. This book delivered that and more.
I WILL WARN YOU NOW IT ENDS ON A CLIFF HANGER, AND WHAT A CLIFF HANGER IT IS. BOOK 2 IS DUE IN AUGUST SO NOT LONG TO WAIT.
THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE CRACKER OF A READ. Saving Askara, had me trapped within the first 2 pages and didn’t give up until the last page. Can you can tell if it’s a debut novel NO, its fresh and exciting, a new approach on the Science fiction circuit. I loved Tori, but I REALLY REALLY LOVED ADERUS.
When I pick up a Science fiction romance I want it to be different, I want them to be aliens not human. Boy did the author push the boat out for this band of aliens. So called Demons. with their dark, graphite-colored skin, sharp teeth, pointed ears, and large, almost cat-like eyes. They were magnificent. Tori is a Doctor been used as a diplomatic as requested by the visiting aliens, she is very tenacious in her way, helping them the way she could with Blood. An alien race that didn’t fall panting at the first sign of an earth female, for me was fantastic. The story flowed beautifully I won’t say to much on the plot as I think you should go in blind. I bought this when I seen it advertised on Facebook, I didn’t realise that it was going to finish on a damn cliffhanger, which I really do hate. However with this book I will make an exception, because I know the next one is out soon.
5 STAR READ FOR ME, For a debut book OUTSTANDING
