Lilith’s Fall (Shadows in Sanctuary Book 1)

by Susan Trombley

Her people call him a demon, but he’s the only one who can save her.

When Lilith Galeron is arrested for a crime she didn’t commit by the brutal regime that controls Dome City, she has no idea what will become of her. People arrested by the Peace Keepers have a habit of disappearing.

Her captors throw her into a cell with a demon. Terrified by his fearsome aspect, she expects him to kill her, but Ranove is not the monster she believes him to be.

Ranove’s captors have starved him and tortured him, but they have not broken him. When they devise a new way of torturing him, he fears that they might finally succeed, but not in the way they expected.

Despite how different they are from each other, an attraction sparks between Lilith and Ranove that cannot be denied by either of them. When they escape their captivity together, Lilith learns that the world beyond Dome City is far different than what she’d been told, and she’s no longer sure who the bad guys are, but she’s afraid she might be falling for one.

Will they live long enough for the passion that ignites between them to grow into something deeper?

Don’t miss the other books in this exciting, steamy romantic series, where the aliens aren’t just humans with different-colored skin. They may look demonic, but these heroes know how to treat their mates like angels.

I feel like I have just stepped out of a Science Fiction maze, You literally got thrown into the story which is one of my niggles a bit more background would have helped I have read other reviews saying a bit more world building would have been great and I tend to agree. As you were thrown into the deep end it took you a while to understand the story which took the enjoyment out of the book a bit for me., I still love the book, A fantastic twist on the angels and demons tale. The blurb was misleading a little bit, all though there was a love story going on it was not the back bone of the book for me. Lilith’s and Ranove’s story all though good did not have the necessary traits to call it a love story. Lilith was a pain if I am honest she questioned everything, not once did she take into consideration in my opinion Ranove’s point of view. Ranove is immortal and Lilith could not handle that, a lot of unanswered questions still linger even though I have finished the book. I have the next book because I loved her friend Stacia and thought her story was much more interesting. I have not heard of this author before and scrolling through Amazon I came across this book, I loved the cover, read the blurb and got it, I am glad I did. Lilith for me was what spoil t this book for me yet she was supposed to be the heroine. I understand she was frightened, terrified even but she did nothing but question everything. Will it stop me reading book 2 nope in fact I have ordered a few of this authors books. I was so impressed with the delivery not to much techno mumbo jumbo so I was able to follow the story. I loved Ranove the description of him was just yum, I like my aliens to be just that aliens. I would love to see this turned into a film. 4 STAR READ
