This book is not roses and cupcakes it is raw emotional and down right sad at times. It tore me apart, I felt every single line, every emotion for me an author who can capture my attention even under the harshest of words has my undying gratitude, I read a lot of books 222 so far this year alone, So believe me when I say this book hit me in places I had hidden for a long time, I identified with Emma mostly but Church is just as damaged. My advice go in blind, then read the reviews because no one should post spoilers. I am writing my take on it but no spoilers.

EMMA. My mother got married again. She has awful taste in men, and that includes my father. It shouldn’t matter to me. I’m old enough to not need parents. I shouldn’t even be living at home. But when you’re white trash that’s been done dirty since before you were born, you just get stuck. I don’t know, maybe I didn’t get enough nutrition as a kid. Maybe I got dropped on my head.

It’s not all doom and gloom I promise but an awakening of sorts, Church and Emma had unbelievable upbringings. Fire & Gasoline by Sia, describes this book exactly, and what a book it is, Unbelievably raw, stripped back emotions, gut wrenching scenes, cry yes I did, hate yes I did, wanted to crawl in between the lines and just cuddle these two individuals damaged so badly by others, and just be there for them. at the same time I sat with my mouth open in horror at the unending pain that they were enduring especially Emma, Emma broke my heart literally ripped it to shreds I have cried I have shouted I wanted to get in side the book to hurt her mother so badly my hands clenched into fists, my god that girls life was a horror story and I think it only scratched the surface off.

Her inner dialogue was excruciating to read, her pain became my pain. Stylo Fantome wrote the character Emma with such feeling and anguish you literally thought you were in the story. Then she gave us Church the strong and silent type the freak that every one thought but was he just waiting for the right spark. Enter Emma and the match is lit. Their pain can be felt through every single line.

This was Dark, A psychological masterpiece, what would you do to be loved??? Think about that then read this. Love and to be loved is one powerful emotion that drives people regardless of your stand on it. It can drive people to madness, murder, obsession.Yet still crave it we do, abhor it when we get it, question the reasons. This is that book from start to finish, you question what you would do while reading this there were times I wondered what the hell was going on, but it drew you in more and more and more. Two unique and damaged individuals, meeting and watch the fireworks go.

Church and Emma’s story hooked me and wouldn’t let me go. They were terrifyingly brilliant emotionally destroyed enigma’s That’s the only way I know to understand them. The journey through this is not pretty its down right terrifying in places,

Stylo Fantome has written a masterpiece it built and built until the final gasp, which I honestly did not see coming never thought it would end it on a cliff hanger. I truly hate them. I am now sitting here wondering what the hell to do, because I want to know what happens, How long to wait for the next book ??? This is a 5 star read. I can not give this enough praise, highly recommended read
