Hustler: A Second Chance Romance – Rye Hart & Blake North
One job left. Then we leave this godforsaken town. Everything’s perfect until I see Grace… again. She works at the bank my crew has a hit on. And, that changes everything. I’ll protect her, and her little girl – no matter the consequence.
Ryan All I gave a damn about was my brother. Getting him off to school and away from this cruel place. I never expected to run into Grace. She’s a single mother with a little girl. My crew says she knows too much.
No one is laying a d*mn finger on my Grace. Now I need to figure out a way to get us both out of this alive.
Grace One day I’ll take my daughter away from this place. But for now, putting food on the table is my concern. I was taken back when Ryan walked back into my world. But the way he brings a smile to my little girl’s face… Makes me wonder if we have a second chance. He wants us to leave this town for a new life together.
But, there’s something dark he’s hiding from me. And I can’t get my daughter caught up in a life of danger.
Another terrific book by Rye Hart!! Ryan Park has a lot of responsibilities taking care of his brother and trying to make sure he has a life so much better than his own was growing up. Their father is in prison for 40 years for robbing banks. Ryan’s brother Jason was only eight years old when their father was arrested and Ryan was a senior in high school. Ryan never talked about college because he knew any dreams he did have were gone at the expense of his fathers mistake. The one mistake he didn’t regret was his girlfriend Grace but she was college bound and he had to let her go.
Grace went on to live her life in Texas after high school, while attending college. College is where she met her new boyfriend Hunter and the two dated for over a year when Grace became pregnant and the two dropped out of college and got married. Hunter went into the military to provide for his new family, but just as he was about to be released, he was killed in service, leaving Grace to raise their daughter alone.
Grace moved back home to Tell City to raise her daughter around her family. She eventually got a job at the local bank. The last person Grace expected to ever see again was Ryan but then one day he came to the bank where she worked and opened a savings account. The two reconnected after 8 years apart and she found he was a changed man, or so she thought.
