SYNOPSIS
Angel: I’m a teacher. Or rather, I want to be. Fresh out of college, I went on a date with the wrong man and ended up drugged and helpless in a really bad place. The motorcycle club I was taken to was no place for a woman, as I found out the hard way. They thought I was helpless, but I managed to get away — only to stumble onto three kids who need me as a teacher. The problem? They’re with another club. I can’t leave them until I’m convinced they’re safe. Unfortunately, the club president doesn’t like me much. He’s also the hottest man I’ve ever come across and resisting him is not even something I’m going to attempt. Cain: As president of Bones MC, it’s my responsibility to decide how to handle the kids who adopted us. Who the fuck adopts a MC club anyway? Knowing for whatever reason they didn’t want social services finding them, the club hires a teacher for them. And what a fucking teacher she is! Woman nearly put me to my knees the first time I saw her. I fought it as long as I could, but a man can only take so much of that shapely ass in those tight skirts. I’ll use everything in my sensual bag of tricks to make her mine, and no one will take her away from me. Not even the club from Nashville intent on getting her back.
MY REVIEW
Normally if a book has been rated this low by me I don’t even bother with a review but this time I am. One to show that I can downgrade if I need to but also that not everything we read is good regardless of what the other reviews say. One must make up ones own mind in all things. So all though I blog, my opinion will differ from yours. ========================================== I hate absolutely hate having to write a negative review, but sorry when I buy a book, I want to actually enjoy it, not cringe with horror at what I am reading, not because its upsetting or scary but because I can’t actually believe this has been released to the public. This was not enjoyable at all, I felt like the book started half way through a story, there is no back story at all, Who was Cain? who was Angel? where and who, were the children’s real parents? what happened to them?. Who were Pops and Mama?, In one part of the story it was so unbelievable I had to read it twice to make sure I had read it correctly. Angel was apparently drugged and repeatedly raped by a gang of bikers, and her idea of how to fix it was to go to a pharmacy and get the morning after pill !!! WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. What about diseases what about trauma what about going to the police, even if you were scared, they kidnapped and violated you and you just went to the pharmacy I am still shaking my head while writing this. I can not believe that a female author wrote something so ridiculous so insensitive that its just unbelievable. I would have screamed the place down, and no one would have touched me ever again, I most certainly wouldn’t be jumping into bed with another biker that’s for damn sure. There was a lot of violence but no reason why or if there were reasons it was briefly touched on. For me this book was nothing more than how fast Cain could get Angel into bed, regardless of background of story or whether she actually wanted to, it was just a forgone conclusion. This is my first read from this author and my last if this is what she puts out, I have read other reviews and all I can say is they must be easily pleased because in no way what so ever does this deserve a 5 star rating. It is an awful book. The sad part about it is with some actual thought this could have been a phenomenal read, the bikers were more than just bikers they were all Special Forces. I can’t write a book and applaud any one who can, yet saying that I am sounding off about a book is not nice for me. The writer has the talent that is obvious but and it is a big but what kind of audience do you have and are all your books this ridiculous, for me I will never find out as I won’t buy anymore. If you are going to write about subject matters such as child abuse, kidnapping drugs and rape, please please write responsibly and not so whimsical it has a damaging effect on the rest of the romance genre, where there are some extremely talented writers who do their research and write accordingly, with sympathy some level of understanding and not just a titillation. I find my self at a loss why someone would give a book 5 stars when its awful. It took me 1 hour and 20 minutes to read this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its taken me longer to think about the words I wanted to say in my review.
I have been reviewing since 2015 and read a lot of books all which I purchase myself, so this is my honest review of a book. All authors need encouragement and I support the Indie author community with all my heart, sometimes that support is wrong.
