MY REVIEW
If you have never read a Cari Silverwood book, I have a question WHY NOT ? I love authors who push the boundaries of what is acceptable, very few in my opinion do that to success, Cari is one of them they take all you think you know and spin it on it's head, it makes you uncomfortable and anxious but for the life of me I can not put the book down. When a writer can do that he/she has a fan for life. Cari is on my one click list and has been for a few years now.
Now to this book, what a fabulous start to a new series.
This been the first of a trilogy, very reminiscent of those early 90's sci-fi books where each book had it's own story arc completed but the main story rolls on in the background. It technically ends on a cliffhanger, ( WHICH i NORMALLY HATE )but not one of those high drama ones that pisses you off, and you're left wondering WTF and how long do I have to wait for the next one, and really only work if you actually have the next book to hand. In this case it ends on a tantalizingly note that will have you eagerly awaiting the follow up. The good news is that it shouldn't be too long before that drops.
I have seen it advertised on Amazon so hopefully not too long, What the hell am I doing talking so much about how the book ends ! When what I need to be doing is telling you about how flipping amazing this book is, how it blends a finely crafted, slightly mysterious and definitely menacing dystopian world with some amazingly awesome and rounded characters and some rough, dirty, hot and kinky s£x. I love dystopian books, its a what if kind of read and the way the world is, It might not be to far away. If you have read the Machinery of Desire series this is a little lighter, a little rougher around the edges than Preyfinders and nowhere near as dark as the Dark Hearts books. But it's still totally Cari Silverwood , which for those of you that don't know is in a nutshell another way of saying, fantastic, spellbinding, totally engrossing, super, by the seat of your pants kind of read. Now who can say no to a book like that. Not me that's for damn sure.
